Book-Related Affiliate Programs
If your site relates
to books or writing then you may find a good match in these affiliate
programs...
A1Books
Capsule Review: Referral program that enables people
to make referrals even without being on the Web.
Payout: Two options available. 10% commission (rising
to 12% after $25,000 a year in sales) for websites. Special program for
"real life" i.e. for people without websites: 10% of books bought
with specified A1 Discount Code, for sales up to $25,000 per year. Beyond
that figure, the commission rises to 12%. All you do is tell people your
discount code and ask them to use it when they purchase online. Since
visitors need to enter your discount code in order for you to get paid,
you will probably need to assign a percentage of your take to that discount
code. For instance, you can set your discount code to 4% meaning that
people will get 4% off their order if they enter your code. You would
then get 6% (10% minus the 4% for your discount code) commission on that
sale.

Computer
Literacy
Capsule Review: A site dedicated to computer and technology
books, and an affiliate program with a difference: a flat-fee payout for
each new customer. Great if you can send hundreds of people to buy a book;
not so good for sustained income.
Payout: $10 per new customer
Help: Search engines, banners (at least one is mandatory),
recommended lists and more
Rating:
Return: Difficult to judge against other programs. For
comparison, a $10 bounty for a new client is roughly equivalent to the
income you would receive from somebody purchasing $200 of books from Amazon.com.
However, you only get paid the first time the customer buys books.

that features a half-price area. No branding required

Payout: Complicated scheme. Essentially 10% of all books purchased
in any calendar month; however, if this comes to less than $25 (i.e. sales
of $250) then the earnings for that month are zero and the count is reset.
